About the event

As beneficiaries of the previous large round of enlargement and as frontline countries on the EU’s eastern border, the Baltic States have many insights that may help the EU find answers needed to prepare for the next enlargement round.

The second Baltic Event on EU Enlargement, organized by Baltic Initiative on European Reform and Latvian Institute of International Affairs and supported by Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS), will focus on the ways the Baltic States can contribute to making EU enlargement a success in three areas:

  • security,

  • good governance, and

  • economic growth.

The event will bring together experts, policy makers and civil society leaders from the three Baltic States, Germany, other EU Member States and candidate countries.
