Time & Location

Rīga, Strēlnieku iela 4A, Centra rajons, Rīga, LV-1010, Latvia

About the event

If the EU is going to enlarge, integrating Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia and the Western Balkans, how will it affect the Baltics? What new chances for our joint development and security will the enlargement mean?

The challenges of integrating a large economy like Ukraine will likely be outweighed by the new sense of geopolitical strength of the EU, and by giving the Ukrainian people and the peoples of other candidate countries a historic opportunity for a democratic and prosperous future.

But not if we do not do our homework.

The Baltic Event on EU Enlargement will focus on the ways we in the Baltic States can contribute to making EU enlargement a success. It will bring together civil society representatives with EU experts to focus on formulating our contribution in three areas:

  • Democracy, rule of law and human rights;
  • The economy;
  • Geopolitics.
